It's pumpkininny!
Several weeks late, perhaps, but it's never too late to talk about pumpkins.
Thanks to a sweet pattern book (yes, we are guilty of using a pattern) and a nice oblong pumpkin, Milton helped us
to create Surprised Stan over here:
Now for the secrets behind the magic:
Our team of scientists employed the patented Hidden Hatch technique.
Rather than cutting out a lid from the top of the pumpkin, we cut a hole in its bottom. A small hollow was dug out of the bottom piece, wherein a Vanilla Rain votive candle was secured.
The small piece was placed on the jack-o'lantern surface, and the remaining pumpkin lowered over top.
This eliminated the need for reaching into the sticky insides of the pumpkin in order to place and light the candle. Basically, we're geniuses.*
*idea was stolen from a women's magazine.
So here's our star pumpkin showing off some Halloween finery:
We were very proud.
We had exactly 10 trick-or-treaters and a whole lot of candy left over. We enjoyed gummi pizza, breakfast, doughnuts, fries, burgers and sandwiches for a few days afterwards. And, of course, delicious roasted pumpkin seeds. Mmmmmm.
...So I'm, what, a month behind or so? No problem. We'll be all caught up soon enough. I know, I know, you're on the edges of your ergonomic chairs. It'll be awesome. Just you wait.
